Borton-Lawson was proud to be in attendance for the dedication of the Columbia County Flood Risk Management project. Our firm served as the design engineer on this important project in the Bloomsburg.
Our Tom Lawson, who served as project manager, joined Columbia County Commissioner Chris Young and other community, legislative, and project leaders to commemorate the dedication of the wall.
In 2011, Tropical Storm Lee flooding threatened the existence of two key employers in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. Borton-Lawson proposed a cost saving design alternative for the Bloomsburg Flood Risk Management System to be designed and constructed in less than three years in an effort to save over 700 jobs.
Our team designed a context sensitive flood mitigation system which has won local praise from community leaders and the businesses it will protect.

The $24,100,000 construction project was completed on time in October of 2016, within the budgetary constraints.
