Borton-Lawson Executive Vice President Emeritus Thomas Lawson was the keynote speaker at Wilkes University’s Engineering Banquet and Order of the Engineer Ceremony.
Mr. Lawson’s presentation was titled “Design and Construction: Bloomsburg Flood Management Project.” His talk focused around the recently-completed flood wall in Bloomsburg, and the challenges he and his team faced on the project. Borton-Lawson served as the prime design consultant on the project.
Also at the ceremony, students received their Engineer’s Rings, given to those who have accepted the Obligation of an Engineer. The Order of the Engineer was initiated to foster a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession, to bridge the gap between training and experience, and to present to the public a visible symbol identifying the engineer.
Congratulations to all the students who were honored at the banquet and inducted into the Order.
