An existing stone masonry wall supporting SR 3004 adjacent to the Reading Blue Mt & Northern RR collapsed in August of 2016 and required replacement. PennDOT District 5-0 advertised the emergency wall replacement as a Design-Build project and Borton-Lawson teamed with JD Eckman, Inc. to bid the project, who was the successful low bidder on September 15, 2016.
In addition to working closely with The Neel Company to facilitate the proposed T-Wall design, Borton-Lawson also completed the E&S plans, right-of-way plans, and final utility clearance as part of this Design-Build project. The final inspection was performed on July 19, 2017 and the roadway is now open to traffic.
