Job Summary:

Supervises and directs survey parties taking responsibility for the method, quality, and quantity of work performed.

  • Collects physical features of the land using various types of survey equipment such as levels, total stations and GPS.
  • Determines and establishes positional accuracy of property lines, elevations, new site layouts, right of ways.
  • Supervises the work of the survey crew in determining elevations and staking boundaries for mapmaking, construction, land, and other surveys.
  • Reduces electronic field notes in the computer network, and extracts electronic data for field use.
  • Collects field notes using both paper field book and electronic field book.
  • Prepares existing conditions plans, subdivision, Alta plans, and survey plats.
  • Researches deeds and maps.
  • Contacts clients directly and participate in proposal preparation.
  • Job Requirements:

    An Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying, + 5 years experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must hold a license to practice surveying and have the background and experience to complete field and office duties. Must have the ability to operate a computer proficiently and have computer software experience related to surveying, data collection, X data collector and total station.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee primarily works in the office. However, the employee will sometimes work outside. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and vehicles and may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the outdoor work environment can be loud.
