Borton-Lawson performed surveying services for this 68 mile project, which was a combination of new and existing right-of-way power line upgrades.
This project included 15 miles of boundary retracement, 27 miles of existing line rebuild, 41 miles of raw line staking, and 690 structures.
Challenge Project required several contractors to simultaneously construct portions of the line in order to meet schedule. Originally, a portion of survey support was assigned to another party, but communication and coordination among multiple entities was adversely impacting schedule.
SolutionBased on strong performance on the project, and the ability to coordinate multiple crews seamlessly, Borton-Lawson was awarded an expanded role to facilitate the required survey for the project. Several survey crews were mobilized with a focus on safety, communication and project management to successfully complete the project.
