Christopher L. Borton, P.E.
President and CEO
With over 33 years of experience in the engineering field, Chris fully understands the importance of delivering a high-quality product and exceeding client expectations. This total commitment to his work and clients has enabled him to establish a firm and that has seen exponential growth since its inception in 1988, which now consists of over 150 employees. He urges his team members to diversify their thinking patterns in order to produce designs, concepts and solutions unique to each client. Although he strives for distinctive work, Chris stresses the importance of efficient, practical and buildable designs. Chris works diligently to continue maximizing the firm’s assets in anticipation of the firm’s sustained expansion. |

Tom, Borton-Lawson’s co-founder, is accomplished in many areas including surveying, land development, and soils and structures. He has been a part of many major projects including airports, flood control systems, highways, bridges, commercial developments, and low and high-rise building structures. As Quality Assurance Leader, Tom personally oversees a variety of projects, demanding no less than the highest standards. He has a strong sense of commitment to community and works diligently to ensure the firm's excellent reputation is maintained. |

Babur R. Mian, P.E.
Chief Operating Officer
Joining Borton-Lawson in 2009, Babur provides the firm with a financial and managerial direction over its resources and operations. He previously worked as an engineering consultant, and has served as lead engineer/project manager for major design-build projects. Babur’s unique background in the engineering industry, paired with experience in operations, management, business development, strategic planning and oversight of large projects has made him a valued resource at Borton-Lawson and to our clients. He has established a results-driven leadership team and actively seeks innovative ways to mentor these leaders, grow the firm and win new clients. |

Thomas A. Makowski, Esq.
Vice President, Business Development and Marketing
For over 30 years, Tom has had significant experience working with government and private industry. His experience ranges from private law practice to directing government agencies, as well as performing corporate and industry relations functions for a Fortune 500 company. Tom is highly regarded for building partnerships in the public and private sector. Since joining Borton-Lawson in 2010, Tom has significantly increased the firm’s client base and expanded our work into new venues. He oversees the Marketing Department, leads Borton-Lawson’s client initiatives and develops policies and strategies for the growth of the company. He is also actively involved in the community, serving on many boards and committees. |

Mark J. Boris, P.E., DBIA
Architecture/Facilities Business Unit Leader
Mark joined the Borton-Lawson team in 1997 and has progressed from a project engineer to the leader of the Architecture / Facilities Business Unit. Mark has a successful track record of managing both large and small contracts to achieve the project goals of being completed on time, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction. In addition to his project management duties, Mark also provides technical direction and leadership to his team to foster a culture of continuous improvement known as Total Quality Management (TQM). His management style and passion for working on challenging opportunities alongside Borton-Lawson’s diverse technical team drives him to deliver positive results for our clients. |

Patrick J. Endler, AIA, LEED AP
Education and Healthcare Market Sectors Leader
Pat leads the efforts for Borton-Lawson in the Education and Healthcare market sectors. Pat is a registered architect and a 20 year veteran of the industry. He has a diverse resume consisting of hospitals, manufacturing plants, federal buildings, housing authorities, school buildings and college campuses. As a LEED-certified professional, Pat is always looking for ways to incorporate “green” designs and energy efficiency into his work. He specializes in K-12, higher education and healthcare work. He is knowledgeable in the design elements necessary for a productive learning environment and the required provisions for hospitals and related structures. |

Transportation Market Sector Leader /
Transportation Business Unit Leader
Joe has been in the engineering industry for 20 years, with much of his career centered on transportation and bridge engineering and design. He has a thorough understanding of all aspects of planning, design, and construction for roadway, bridge and highway projects. Joe’s work invariably results in innovative solutions for Borton-Lawson clients. He is professionally certified by the Design-Build Institute of America and has been a lead engineer for projects for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. One of Joe’s most recent projects includes an eight month delivery of two concrete bridge structures from concept to design completion for a mega million dollar project for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission over the Lehigh River located in Lehighton, PA. |

Industrial and Energy Market Sectors Leader
Tom leads the Borton-Lawson efforts in the Industrial and Energy market sectors. Working in the engineering industry since 1979, Tom has successfully designed and supervised hundreds of projects, ranging in scope from concise technical studies to major construction projects with budgets in the tens of millions of dollars. He has worked in all roles from lead engineer to project manager, becoming well-versed with industrial and private practice environments, mechanical systems, energy conservation, energy audits, cooling and heating systems and HVAC units. Tom is designated as a Certified Energy Manager issued by the Association of Energy Engineers. As a leader, Tom encourages client interaction and an open design process to ensure the best possible result. |

Environmental Resources Business Unit Leader
With the recent development of the Marcellus Shale across Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia, Chris is leading Borton-Lawson’s strategic effort to position the firm as a valued resource for energy companies, communities, and private developers working in the Shale. With over 20 years of experience in the fields of civil and environmental engineering, he is a natural to lead this market sector. Chris has been with the firm since 1992 and has since managed significant projects in the land development and water and wastewater sectors. These projects involved significant civil engineering and environmental services such as wetland delineation and permitting, and also design of mechanical, electrical and automation systems. As a result, he has an intimate knowledge of the design and regulatory issues relative to the Marcellus region. Chris has also developed strong relationships with the regulatory agencies based on the delivery of quality projects that respect all environmental and municipal regulations. |

Civil Business Unit Leader
Mike has been in the field of civil engineering over 20 years, with much of his work focusing on stormwater management, environmental approvals, soil testing, land development services, and erosion and sedimentation control. He has served in various roles, from project manager on many high-profile and complex projects to principal-in-charge responsible for overseeing yearly work with local municipalities. Mike possesses the extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations and permit requirements, and their relationships and application to a particular project, necessary to provide clients with a successful outcome. With a problem-solving approach to challenging projects, Mike’s site planning, design and development work provide innovative solutions to clients. |
