Borton-Lawson’s Matt Neiman, Jacob Hauptmann and Chad Keating recently led a Marcellus Shale Coalition (MSC) Work Group session on a new permit application submittal standard. The group led an interactive demonstration and open forum on the creation routine of a ArcGIS Layer Package (.LPK) file developed from an AutoCad (.DWG) well plat file.
Starting September 15, 2018, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP) requires all well permit applications to use the .LPK standard. The group also discussed Interested Parties and Directional Drill information, which also has to be furnished to the PADEP in a specific standard.
In the future, other PADEP permit applications will also require a .LPK deliverable to aid the review process.
