Borton-Lawson recently completed a structural analysis for Edward’s Moving & Rigging, which PennDOT required to support a superload transport permit application. Our team analyzed the Constitution Bridge in Clinton County that carries S.R. 0150 over West Branch Susquehanna River and SR 1002 for structural sufficiency during a proposed superload crossing.
It was concluded that the structure could safely accommodate the proposed Superload, which weighed in excess of 460,000 lbs., without any potential for loss of service life on the bridge.
The two separate rail cars were safely and successfully delivered to the construction site on January 10th and 14th.
Congratulations to our team and Edward’s Moving & Rigging for executing this complex transit project. Special thanks to PennDOT District 2-0 and the Pennsylvania State Police for making this move safe and possible.
