Transformational Strategic Plan Takes Effect

Frank Joanlanne, Borton-Lawson’s President & CEO, is pleased to announce the roll-out of a new, transformational strategic plan. This plan took effect at the beginning of this year.

Borton-Lawson is dedicated to creating a great company for our employees. A strong and engaged culture is the engine that will drive our strategic plan. We cannot have success in strategy or performance without a thriving culture. Actively driving our culture is vital to achieving superior results.

The strategic plan aligns Borton-Lawson into three Divisions – Public & Private Infrastructure, Beyond Engineering, and Energy & Industrial. Each of these Divisions will leverage technology to provide value-added solutions.

Our company has evolved from a small business providing general engineering services into a consulting firm delivering solutions to specific markets through technology, expertise and depth. Through a deep understanding of these industries, we can now provide client’s superior value and solutions to their key issues.

The Public & Private Infrastructure Division will focus on creating value for clients in Land Planning & Design, Transportation, and a newly created market, Water.

The Energy & Industrial Division will focus on further developing our nationally recognized vertically integrated solutions in the Oil & Gas and Industrial markets.  The Division will also house two new market sector groups, Power and Glass.

In order to ensure that Borton-Lawson is well positioned far into the future, we have created an Emerging Technology group. This research and development team will focus on enhancing client solutions through the integration of new technologies and optimizing project delivery methods.

Borton-Lawson continues to drive innovation in its client solutions by heavily investing in new technologies, including 3D laser scanning, drones, and other industry disruptors.

In addition to the Emerging Technology group, the Beyond Engineering Division is pleased to announce the creation of the Life Cycle Solutions group, which provides customized solutions throughout the entire lifespan of the asset. This team leverages technology and specialized industry expertise to enhance your asset, from initial due diligence and inventory through facility optimization. The Beyond Engineering Division will also house our Survey, Environmental and Architectural teams. 

Our clients have repeatedly made it known that experience, expertise, superior project delivery, value-added solutions, innovation and strong partnerships are essential to making their vision a reality. Borton-Lawson has listened and structured itself to deliver just that.

Employee Promotions

As part of our new organizational structure, we are pleased to announce Judith Bloom, CPA has been promoted to Vice President of Finance. Ms. Bloom joined Borton-Lawson in 2011, and prior to her promotion served as the Controller. She has more than 25 years of experience in public accounting and is CPA licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. She was a member of Borton-Lawson’s Leadership Development Institute (BLDI) Class in 2014, Leadership Wilkes-Barre Class of 2011, and is a graduate of Kings College.

In addition, Donald Spencer, PLS was promoted from Energy Business Unit Leader to Vice President of Operations. Lucinda Boardwine was also promoted in her role as Director of Marketing.
