Integrating Engineering and Technology
Borton-Lawson combines engineering expertise with cutting-edge technology to transform how you experience your projects. Here is one of the many ways we have used technology to help client’s solve key issues.
Virtual Installation
A cost-effective solution was needed to avoid demolition and reconstruction of the concrete pad that did not meet required standards for flatness.
Our team combined the analytical power of multiple applications with a 3D laser scan to generate clear visualization of the pad defects. A 3D model of each dry cask unit was virtually installed by creating a best fit plane of the foundation bearing area and controlling allowable deflection and separation between all adjacent units. The solution allowed installers to meet stringent criteria with confidence and a predictable outcome.

Feedwater Heater
Feedwater Heater
Project Overview:
Feedwater heaters were being shipped to a client site but the manufacturing tolerances were creating field fit delays, which was causing longer than necessary shutdown times and negatively affecting both schedule and budget.
Outage Support–High Rad Pipe Replacement
Outage Support–High Rad Pipe Replacement
Project Overview:
Borton-Lawson provided on-site generation of as-built fabrication drawings during a planned outage for a Reactor Water Clean-Up system loop pipe replacement job utilizing a 3D project approach.
Virtual Installation - ISFSI Slab Correction
Virtual Installation - ISFSI Slab Correction
Project Overview:
